CryoPen is the effective and controlled destruction of unwanted tissue by the precise application of extreme cold. A session of cryotherapy usually takes 5-15 minutes. If cryotherapy hasn’t been successful within three months, further treatments aren’t likely to be effective. Liquid nitrogen is applied to the area for a few seconds to freeze and destroy the affected skin cells. After treatment, a sore blister will form, followed by a scab, which will fall off 7-10 days later. The CryoPen is a safe and effective treatment for all, from children to adults. Little to no skin preparation is needed; the treatment is quick with no aftercare required. The treated area will heal with a growth of healthy skin. The new skin may contain less pigment that the original skin and should end up smooth. The new skin grows across the area from the edges and from deep follicles.
