B*tox Aftercare Made Easy

B*tox (Botulinum Toxin) remains one of the most popular and effective aesthetic treatments available globally. It is a simple, non-surgical solution for concerns ranging from fine lines and wrinkles to excessive sweating.

How Does Botox Work?

B*tox is a refined neurotoxin protein that works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that tell specific muscles to contract. When precisely administered by a medical professional, this causes the targeted muscle to relax and soften.

This muscle relaxation helps address key concerns:

  • Fine Lines & Wrinkles: Softening dynamic wrinkles (those caused by movement) on the forehead, between the brows (frown lines), and around the eyes (crow's feet).

  • Medical Uses: Treating conditions like excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and even certain types of migraines.

Simple Aftercare: Your First 48 Hours

While the treatment itself is quick, following simple aftercare instructions is crucial to ensure the best possible results and prevent the product from migrating.

The Critical First 12 Hours:

During this time, the goal is to let the product settle exactly where it was injected.

  • Avoid Pressure & Heat:

Do not massage the treated area or apply heat.

Avoid activities that cause your skin to flush (raise your body temperature), such as heavy exercise, consuming alcohol, or taking hot baths/using hot tubs.

  • Stay Upright:

Do not bend over or hang your head upside down for prolonged periods.

  • Sleeping:

Avoid sleeping directly on your face for the first night.

Top Tip: Arrange your pillows to gently buffer your head and help you remain on your back.

The Next 24–48 Hours:

To protect your results, hold off on any activities that involve significant pressure, extreme heat, or jarring movement:

  • Facial Appointments: Avoid facials, deep cleansing, and spa treatments.

  • Fitness: Skip gym sessions, Pilates, or high-impact activities like horse riding.

  • Personal Care: Postpone any dental work or hairdressing appointments where you might lean back for extended periods.

  • Swimming: Avoid swimming pools or saunas.

Your 2-Week Follow-Up Appointment:

Approximately two weeks after your initial appointment, you will return for a quick follow-up visit. This appointment is essential: your practitioner will assess how the product has fully taken effect, evaluate the overall result, and confirm that it meets the expectations discussed during your consultation.

Goal, Not Top-Up: This is primarily an opportunity to ensure your goal has been achieved. While it is not typically a "top-up" appointment, occasionally a practitioner may administer a few small, precise injections to fine-tune the result.
